Southern Outlaw Tour '08

BREAKING NEWS (April 1, 2008) -- Horsepower TV will be coming to cover the Southern Outlaw Tour '08 at Bristol Dragway.  Horsepower TV knows this will be the most exciting heads up race ever.  If you're lucky enough to make it to this event, come by and meet Joe Elmore and the rest of the crew from Horsepower TV.

Bristol Dragway April 4-6, 2008

The Southern Outlaw Tour '08 presented by TCI/Comp Cams will roar into "Thunder Valley" at Bristol Dragway April 4-6 with an exciting debut event. The race, held in conjunction with the Outlaw Racing Street Car Association, marks the first event in a new seven-race series that will take place at tracks throughout the Southeast.

The outrageous Outlaw Pro-Modified and Nitrous Pro-Modified cars will highlight the inaugural event. Outlaw 10.5, Big Dog, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, Limited Street, Modified Street and EZ Street also are scheduled to compete.

The cars at this event will compete on narrow 10.5" tires, making for a tricky pass down the strip. These races are always exciting, as drivers must work hard to get power to the track.

A bracket race completes the weekend action with $5,000 going to the winner of the Pro class and a $2,000 prize for the winner of the footbrake class.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 4, with time trials for bracket cars beginning at 10 a.m. Bracket eliminations take place at 2 p.m. Qualifying for Pro categories starts at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, gates open at 8 a.m., and bracket time trials start 9 a.m. Qualifying for bracket and Pro divisions continue throughout the day.

Gate open at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the first round of bracket eliminations scheduled for 10 a.m. Pro Eliminations are set to begin at 12:30 p.m.
